Bugiri District Farmers Association continues to support farmers in improving cassava production, handling, and value addition.
BDFA has monitored the performance of promoted cassava varieties, including NAROCASS 1, to assess yields and encourage improved production practices. The Association has also documented how farmers dry cassava in Nankoma Sub-county as part of post-harvest handling and processing activities.
BDFA staff have participated in the pretesting of cassava slicers, including activities involving cassava preparation and processing. These efforts are intended to improve efficiency, reduce post-harvest losses, and support better-quality cassava products.
The BDFA team has also conducted field monitoring visits to cassava gardens and agricultural activities, helping farmers improve production and strengthen opportunities for value addition.
